The Glass Menagerie

The Glass Menagerie is told throught the memory of Tom. After the abandonment of their father, their family became a mess in itself. Tom is sort of the outsider of the family, always trying to find ways to get out. After quitting her typing class to focus on her music and glass menagerie collection, Mrs. Wingsfield wants Tom to find Laura a man. Tom goes out and finds Jim, an old highschool friend. As the story came to a close, Tom and Jim sit on the fire escape to talk about future plans, Jim wanting to be an executive while Tom wants to join the Merchant Marines to get out of the family area. He purposely does not pay the utility bill in order to join the seamens union.
