Ex. Credit Blog 1

Going home for the holidays is something that I want to come faster than the time is now. I have long been awaiting the trip back to Pennsylvania for Christmas. I get to see the snow covered landscape, the mountain side with frozen mini-waterfalls, and the many deer that roam around. The main part I want to go back is so I can break out the snowboard. It has been 12 months that I have not snow-boarded due to school. Doesn’t that just suck. But family and all will be there so I am counting down the minutes.

On Norriswood and Watagua, the two main streets that I use daily have been blocked off completely due to the repaving of the roads. What I don’t understand is that why they close off all the streets in order to only be able to work on one road at a time. Well speaking of which, I almost got my car towed this morning because last night, our backyard, which can fit about 9 cars in it was completely fool, so I parked at my sister’s house on watagua. Well turns out that they were doing both streets so I get a call from my sister stating they were about to tow my car. So just rising out of bed, I run over there in some gym shorts and a undershirt and flip-flops. Can you say freezing. It was just a sudden surprise so I did not think of it.

Ch 15 Poem Reflections

This is Just to Say: William C. Williams

When you first go to look at the poem you wonder if it is really a poem only being 12 lines long. The poem itself seems as though it was a hot summer day and a child dug in for a cold treat in this case a plum. He ate the plum and then was confronted by someone in which he apologized for eating it. I love the poem because of its length. It just doesn’t seem to be at an upper education level to be assigned. But the poem was short and sweet.

Silence: Marianne Moore

The poem is a little tricky to comprehend, but to what I think I understand, he is talking about how silence can prove how good a man/woman you really are. It can choose those who are high in self-respect in themselves, and those who care about what they look like all the time. It just goes to show you the whole reason for silence, whether it is to describe your personality or your self-dignity.

Down Wanton Down: Robert Graves

I researched a little into the poem and discovered some very good answers to summarize the poem since I did not fluently understand. But, the poem is basically about the physical being of a true man. The poem is based within a man, and the conflicts that haunt him. He believes himself to be superior and that nothing can bring him down. Wanton refers to his behavior from old English text, meaning irate in some cases. The poem at first, I thought it was going to be about a dog. But that changed.

Batter My Heart: John Donne

During the first couple stanzas it sounds as if he is praying to God or to something. Now he is praying the God will come in him with force, blow him down etc… Then it continues by stating how he was now imprisoned by the devil just as if a town is imprisoned by an invader. This could also possibly mean that he has betrayed God and turned to Satan for help. Near the end he discovers his wife has left and decides to turn back to God to try to help him. This poem I kind of liked. The ending was a little bad but overall good poem.

Aftermath: Henry Longfellow

The poem is obviously talking about a big event that had happened in the area, not necessarily a good event. Maybe a war or a massacre of some sort. The aftermath can resemble some of the good that comes about the land possibly the new creatures that make it home or the grass that covers up the blood pools. The aftermath is what makes old things look new but memory can never be altered.

Friend…Thomas Moore lies Dead: J.V. Cunningham

This poem is the shortest poem I have ever seen. I do not know if the body has a severed head or if he is being sarcastic saying his friend never went down without a fight, but, the whole purpose of it was not to explain an event of any sort, but to maybe create a joke. I don’t know. Its difficult to understand and two sentence long poem.

End of Semester Stress?

This week has been filled with stress; all eighteen hours are just pounding down now. I was just thinking, why is it that as the semester comes near its end, why do professors create new work that is hard to do? This winter break is one that will be well needed and well deserved. With only two days left before the week of finals, everyone is pretty much struggling to finish all the last minute things so that the week of finals can be less stressful. So, I was just thinking about that over the weekend.

5th Outside Event

After class on Thursday, I was frantically trying to find a fifth outside event, I started branching out to some fellow students and roommates. I got some insight to a coffee bar similar to Otherlands Coffee Bar; it’s called Java Cabana Coffee Bar. Believe it or not, it is on the same street, Cooper Young that is. The coffee bar has open mic nights on Thursdays. My roommates/friends went up there to check it out, it had plenty of amateur poets and writers. But once again it was very interesting just because of the atmosphere of being in a coffee shop but it also being related to English in an odd way. Some of the poems were hard to get the meaning of because they sounded like they just made up some random ideas that seemed to rhyme, and some that just sounded like straight up sentences jumbled into poems. But one of the stories that was read really was interesting. About the writers life as a child and how some of the troubles he faced transformed into how he was today. The whole idea of going to outside events still has not hit me yet, but this was a lot better than the Otherlands reading just because it was not “gay” at all. That reading still makes me wonder why I stayed. J. So, this is my fifth outside event. And how I thought about it.

Steeler Game Sunday ii2

This weekend i could not believe the loss that the steelers had brought upon Pittsburgh. Of all the teams to lose to, we lose to Kansas City Chiefs. See to put it into simpler terms, the Steelers were 6-3 while the Chiefs were 2-5. Now that record is horrible. Not to mention though that the main quarterback, Ben Roeslithberger, was taken out in the fourth quarter due to an injury. This was more than likely what resulted in the chiefs coming back two touchdowns to win it in overtime. This just ruined my Sunday afternoon, not to mention having to drive anywhere and finish up schoolwork that was due.

Coffee Bar Reading

Wednesday night I had gone to the Otherlands Coffee Bar poetry reading. Well let us just say it was different. The female reader was not very loud so I could not hear exactly what she was reading. But with the male reader, he expressed his thoughts very vividly. The reading was really awkward since it was talking of what it sounded to be like a real life experience of his life with a guy friend. It talked about how he once got into drugs and how they affected the life of him and his friend. Eventually if I heard correctly his friend had killed himself, although I cannot remember exactly how. But the aura that the coffee bar gave was one that made the reading a somewhat interesting event. Would I return and go to another reading? Well I might return once more and if I experience the same type of reading probably not. It was just not my source of fun that I enjoy.

Police, Good or Bad?

The weekend was a good weekend. I have noticed one thing over the weekend though, not necessarily a bad thing. But police officers are said to be heroes and all, but why is it they seem to be more worried on the type of vehicle speeding before they think of the actual offender. Sat night, the weather was perfect so me and some of my friends go on a little motorcycle ride down I-40. Well, eventually we began to go the equal speed of those around us and because there were four of us on street bikes, the cop chose to pull us over instead of the cars that were in front of us. Now if you think about it, what would be the right thing to do? Pull over the car going about 85, or the motorcycles going about 80 mph. This seemed to just decrease my respect for cops much more than it already is. I just thought I would share that.

Semesters End is near

The semester has just blown by this year. It has just hit me that the semester is almost over, just about four weeks left of the term. I don’t know what it is about end of terms but it seems to be that teachers are happy to dump out the work on all us ready to be through with school. But regardless of how much work is given out, the students seem to only care for a little amount of time before they just do it and forget about it. So now as the semester draws near the end, exams are next. The big test to whether one really does pass or fail. If they did not have finals, school would be much easier. But as a result of school, there must be proficiency tests.

Niel White Visit

Last night, another classmate and i had gone to listen to Niel White describe his book Sanctuary of Outcasts. The book was made to seem actually somewhat interesting, about how he was detained in a federal prison with lepers (Leprosy infected). During the visit, he allowed the audience to ask certain questions directed to him or towards his writing. Questions such as "how did your children influence their section in the book?" and "How did you sell your work?" The answers he returned were pretty interesting. His kids actually thought it was cool that he publish the memoir and that they are involved in it. The second question he answered saying "Dont seek out the editor, edit your work to its fullest and then try to let the editor find you" like what happened to him. I don't believe his answer is truly true because if you want your work out you should create your own path. But it was a good interview/discussion.

Steelers vs Broncos

Wow the game tonight was amazing. The game did start out slow with us losing but only by a field goal. Near the end of the first quarter, beginning of the second, the game began to increase its pace. The Steelers began to throw and run the ball much better than they had previously scoring a total of four touchdowns while the Broncos only scored one and a fieldgoal. Throughout the game, there were many interceptions thrown between both teams. Even through all the excitement, the Steelers still prevailed. So in the end, the best team wins.

The Weekend Weather

This weekend has been by far one of the best weekends we have had by far. Although the weather is not as cold as i would like, at least it is not raining. Back to the actual weekend weather, it has been very moderate to withstand not really going over seventy degrees. The leaves are beginning to turn their fallish orange color which my mother really enjoys. Also, the weatehr was perfect for riding motorcycles and i got to ride mine with my dad, uncle, and cousin while they were down for the wedding. So the weather actual brings good things with it when it is nice enough to enjoy.

WeddingsAs the weddin gdrew closer,

Over the past several days, it has been very hectic dealing with a wedding. I dont think i have ever been in a more stressful enviroment. As the day drew closer, more and more things began to pop up. Her is a brief list of what all we had to do: first we had to go to the tuxedo store to get our final fitting of ourt tuxedos. After that we traveled to the rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner. After the dinner we went downtown for the bachelors party and then woke up and less than a couple hours of sleep began the main day. We had to get dressed and take pictures and then had to go to the wedding and get into our positions. then finlally the wedding was complete and we were able to relax. This was a big relief for me.

Empty Glass

I can see right through it, just clear as can be. It is just sitting on the solid surface as if it is trying to become filled with something. A small, minuscule bug flying around the cylinder itself looking for a exit, but it cannot find it because the cylinder has only one clear exit. Its whole life’s goal is to be used to deliver an incredibly smooth beverage to somebody’s mouth. This is the story of an empty glass. Once the glass has held out its life purpose it is forever relaxed. This prompt of an empty glass was derived from the creative writing website. So although it is a short story, what else can you expand on an empty glass.

Parkers Back

After reading Parkers Back outside of class it seems like the story that can relate to a majority of people who believe in the Christian lifestyle. What it seems to be is that of a young man who at first does not believe in Christ and tends to think that he is his own creator and destroyer. Married to just about the complete opposite individual, Sara Ruth relies heavenly on what the bible tells her about living life. As the story moved on, it became a little interesting as you wondered if anything was going to change between them. Near the end Parker decides to get a tattoo on his back resembling Christ. He did this as a chance to impress Sara Ruth. When as a result he became closer to the savior and began to notice what he had been missing out on all his life. Though the story does not have a definite ending, it was a decent short story to have read.

Revelation

Revelation, a short story written by Flannery O’Connor, is mainly about a Older woman who goes into a health clinic waiting room a stuck up lady and then after a small scruffle leaves a changed lady who see things in a different way. The story itself starts off a little slow while an elderly lady looks around the waiting room she was in and begins to notice things wrong with people. As discussed in class, it does seem to make herself seem superior to all others the way she describes others in retrospect to herself. That is probably how the fight got started, possibly when she was arguing with the fat, acne faced, girl. When the book hits the grandma, she has a new aspect of life and begins to question why god made her white instead of something else. Honestly, I did not like the story because I got lost through almost the whole thing, which is why my reflection might not be correct.

Holiday Memory

While enjoying a weekend with the family, I began to have flashbacks of the first Christmas where the entire family was present. All twenty seven family members all present to enjoy the festivities and dinner that are known with the holiday. It was one of the most enjoyable times for everyone, not only because all the presents that you get but the quality time spent with them. Just when you thought it could not get any better, snow began to fall down from the sky and provided a perfect afternoon of sledding and snowboarding (snowboarding happened after dinner). There was nothing better than snow and family.

No Power! What to do?

Looking through the creative writing prompt website, I noticed one that said “Electricity is a recent discovery; describe a couple things that one might do without power.” Well the first thing that comes to mind would be to go to sleep until the power does come on. Without TV or light there is really nothing out there to do. Second, the people I am with will all go out back and create a bon fire. We will all just gather around and congregate talking about current events that are happening around us. Also, I might listen to an ipod, at least until the battery life dies. And if all came down, I would light a candle and read, as much as I hate to admit it. That is what I would do if the power went out.

The Clock Winked!

Another idea derived from the creative prompts is to start a story off with the saying “The Clocked Winked.” So here it goes. The clock winked as if it was trying to provoke me. Each minute slowly ticking by as you are strapped down to a chair not knowing where you are. Five minutes later, the door slides open and you are face to face with a masked stranger holding torture devices. Thoughts are racing through your mind as the stranger inches nearer. Frantically moving trying to get loose, the stranger stands over you and thrust the chair downward with a force that rattles the floor boards. He whispers something to you, “How would you like to die?” You begin to cry and are so scared you cannot come up with an answer. Next thing you know, the closet door flies open and out jumps you friend and a video camera laughing hysterically. “I hoped you learned your lesson for that time that you scared me!” He states. Next thing you know, you are having breakfast and restraining yourself from strangling your friend.

What couldnt you live without?

Have you ever thought about the one thing in life you could never do without? I gave it a good thought over the weekend as my roommates and I traveled to Arkansas to cliff jump. I realized how hard it is to live without orange juice. I craved OJ so much I traveled almost thirty miles just to get some for one night. Then as I lied in the tent that night, I thought about the quantity that I consume and how some researchers say it keeps you from getting sick and I believe them now. I have not been sick in about a year and a half (knock on wood). I must go through at least three gallons a week! I just cannot get over that taste of fresh squeezed orange juice. But that would have to be the one thing I would want the most in this world.

The Worst Chore!

The worst thing to do around your house in my opinion is to mow the yard. Every weekend I travel a long distance of twenty to thirty minutes to visit my parents for the weekend. It never fails to be asked to aid with yard-work. And this is no little task; it takes up almost a whole day to complete this task. With a total of 17 acres, it is almost impossible not to complain. Who wants to sit out under the hot sun and move up and down a yard that seems never-ending? This in my mind seems to be the worst chore around a house. I think we will just leave out the weed-eating and leaf blowing that follows.

Work Excuses

Scanning over the creative writing ideas, I noticed one that stated write an excuse to not go to work today. This specific one caught the eye. As everyone knows the main excuse for not coming in to work ranges from my car broke down to I am sick. But if you are going to lie about an excuse to not go to work why not make one worth claiming, or even just state the truth. For example, If you have a hangover, just say that you are vomiting everywhere and don’t want to endanger the people and customers of your work environment. Thus saying you don’t actually have to say you had a hangover and were irresponsible and decided to get trashed knowing you had to wake up at five in the morning. So in the end, you can lie and then be looked down upon by management or just state the truth and be proclaimed in a way.

Creative Writing Prompts

Looking through the many creative prompts again, I found one that actually has happened to me before. The prompt was “Your in bar and a drunk man sits next to you, he starts confessing the truth, explain his conversation with you.” Well to start off when you are trashed, you will not know whether the people next to you are listening or not, and when they are it is the best time of the spectator’s night. Last year at Mardi Gras I was in a bar getting drinks for my friends and I. Waiting for the bartender to notice, a man sits next to me and starts crying saying how his life has gone down the drain. He confesses he used to be a millionaire oil company owner who had traveled to Tunica and lost it all. He constantly cried how he should not have gone to Tunica. After the repetition of the same story, I was so glad to see the bartender arrive with the drinks.

Mark Yakich

In class, we listened to the reading of the poem Green Zone New Orleans. The poem is read through nine different voices or point of views. Though some may think the poem sounds odd and not understandable but I think it is the affects of hurricane Katrina. It talks much about the different individual’s belief in God, abandonment of what they have known their entire lives, and some even enjoy their lives now. Opening the poem, it talks of someone leaving his house, talking to it as if it were alive. Further into the poem, there is a couple who pees over the side of a balcony on Bourbon Street. And multiples involve God in their reading of the poem. All this comes to play in a way that it shows how one thing (Hurricane Katrina) can change things.

Creative Writing Prompt

Sitting in my room, I was recommended a website for creative writing. One subject is to close your eyes and focus on something in the room, without opening them, describe the object. So I decided to give it a shot. I focused on the television mounted to the wall in front of my bed. On the television is the show House, with two motorcycle helmets hanging on hooks on the left side of it. The Xbox 360 sitting below on the shelf with two speakers equally placed on both sides of the shelf. The shelf atop four drawer dresser all neatly placed for clean lines. This prompt can be used for visionary details and details. Being able to explain vision in words commonly used in English to visualize what you’re reading and/or reciting.

The Glass Menagerie

The Glass Menagerie is told throught the memory of Tom. After the abandonment of their father, their family became a mess in itself. Tom is sort of the outsider of the family, always trying to find ways to get out. After quitting her typing class to focus on her music and glass menagerie collection, Mrs. Wingsfield wants Tom to find Laura a man. Tom goes out and finds Jim, an old highschool friend. As the story came to a close, Tom and Jim sit on the fire escape to talk about future plans, Jim wanting to be an executive while Tom wants to join the Merchant Marines to get out of the family area. He purposely does not pay the utility bill in order to join the seamens union.

Steelers VS Chargers

Sunday night the Pittsburgh Steelers played the San Diego Chargers and ending up winning by ten points. While substituting Rashard Mendenhall in for Willie Parker, he ended up with an incredible running game for the offensive line. Not only was the running game on point, but the passing game was not doing so horrible either. With the score 28-7, they went into the fourth quarter. Somehow, the Chargers got and incredible second wind, and stomped their way to a 21 point gain on the Steelers. Fumbles and interceptions aided them in accomplishing this. While Ben Roethlisberger did do a decent job, he could have done better. With 54 seconds remaining, the kicker Reed point the game out of reach for the San Diego Chargers. The final score ended up being a 38-27 victory for the Steelers.

StreetCar named Desire.

Saturday night I had gone to see the play “A Streetcar Named Desire,” the play itself was pretty good. Although the play was lengthy, the actors were very loud which made it a mistake to sit near the front. They would scream out of nowhere and Make you jump a little. The main characters Blanche, Stella, and Stanley all were on the same boat. By that I mean, Blanche had visited in search of a home to say. Losing her job as a wealthy teacher she now became a lower class citizen. Stella and Stanley were already lower class and they were not opposed to that. While in New Orleans Blanche ends up meeting a guy named Mitchell and begin to talk and date. As a result, the play was good, but personally I don’t think it was worth twenty dollars.

CIGARETTE GIRL

After watching a short movie preview in class, one might get the idea that “CIGARETTE GIRL” is just a no plot, slaughter movie. In order to get the real taste of the film, one must go see it. The whole movie mainly deals with a woman who sells cigarettes like drug dealers sell drugs now. In the year of 2035, cigarettes skyrocket to a price of fifty dollars a pack. Well in a smokers club, where cigarette girl works, sells a cigarette named VICE in which she smuggles out and sells for much lower price. After seeing her grandmother ill and later pass, cigarette girl quits all things related to smoking and rebels against those who keep on smoking. Through out the movie, a cowboy figure (Marlboro man) is seen through a hallucination. The cowboy resembles the withdrawals she is going through. Over a span of three days she changed her ways and made life a little easier for those around her losing little but gaining much more.

Group 1
3) In the story “Where have you been, Where are you going,” the main character is Connie. A girl who is at war with her home family, while at the same time picks up boys at a local burger joint. She catches the attention of a young man in a gold jalopy who from there calls Connie out at her house while she is alone.
Group 2
4) Arnold Friend is a random guy whom Connie meets at a local burger restaurant. He then arrives at her house and confronts Connie for a ride with him. The significance of his car, clothing, and language is that all of those are what Connie would have wanted in a guy, a clean cut guy with a nice car, up to date clothing, and smooth language. It’s almost as though he was created from Connie’s mind.
Group 3
1)In the story, Arnold Friend has three numbers painted onto his car 33 19 17. In some
cases they are known to be that of a bible verse Judges (the 33rd book in the bible, if counted backwards) 19:17. This states “And when he had lifted up his eyes, he saw a wayfaring man in the street of the city: and the old man said, "Whither goest thou? and whence comest thou?" If one was to translate, it is the title of the story “Where have you been, Where are you going? A second suggestion is one I more likely lean towards and that is the Jesus Christ was 33 years of age at the time of crucifixion, and the missing number between 17 and 19 is 18. So to continue, the 18th letter in the alphabet is “R” and referring to Arnold Friend, the r can be removed and it leaves An Old Friend.
Group 4
3) The story is based in the Tucson region of Arizona. Referring to earlier assigned readings, the triple murder of 1966 in Tucson, Arizona took place in the Tucson desert area. Where a young man had murdered three girls all in which he had talked to or knew. The setting just added the needed suspense to the story to have it feel as realistic as the actual event.

Where are you going? Where have you Been?

Literature can be displayed through various forms of art, whether through films, novels, news articles, songs, etc... Novels are what verbally narrate one through a story to try to deliver imagery to the reader. Films however deliver a more interesting form through acting. Though when all these are compared, they all are a piece to the puzzle. After reading over the story “Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?” and have watched Smooth Talk, noticeable similarities have been portrayed. Similarities such as names, objects, restaurants, and the lies Connie had said all are repeated to give a similar affect. Author Oates, Joyce Carol influenced from a triple murder back in 1966, seemed to use the individuals only in a different sense. Also, changing up some of the events and leaving out the murders. In one of the articles it speaks of a young man around the age of 23 finding girls and murdering them, two in an attempt to cover up the first. In the story, Connie has stumbled upon A. Friend in a diner and is then stunned to find him at her front door a few days past. He offers Connie a ride and she accepts after some thinking. This can relate to in the Tuscan murders in which Charles Schmid is A. Friend and Connie is Alleen Rowe. Schmid along with another individual, Saunders (Ellie), invite Alleen to a party where they divert from their path to a desolate area and murder and rape Alleen. Towards the end of the story and film, Connie is invited out with A. Friend but is brought back to the house, not murdered. If examining the details of each literature piece, there are major iterations but still few changes are noticed. To provide a point, most literature if related in some way can work together to form one piece in different forms.

Rites of Passage

1) The irony in the way the speaker describes the first-grade boys at her son's party is how she describes them as men, when in actuality they are only young (first graders at that). Somewhat this makes them seem as though they are boys wanting to be men, the older they get the tougher they become.
2) The other irony the author underscores in the last two lines is how the children resemble generals, once again older men, but they are grouping around in a way of celebration or party games. "They relax and get down to playing war," this might interpret the start of festivities.
3) The mother does not sentimentalize her own son by seing him better than the others, but just as it is his day to be celebrated. Everyone on their birthday is normally treated better than others. It is a day that only comes once a year.

What is a Hero?

As defined by the Webster’s dictionary, the word ‘hero’ describes a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. This is a person with a selfless heart, willing to do something above and beyond social expectations in order to help someone else. In our society, there are many different stereotypes and definitions of a hero. There is the tragic hero, one who plays the part even though they do not wish to be one; the martyr, who gives his/her life in order to save someone or something; and the military, men and women in the armed forces who risk their lives for the freedom of our country. It is common to listen to the news on television and hear of a military hero, one who has gone overseas, fought for our country, slain the enemy, and come back alive. This ‘hero’ then comes back to receive a medal of honor, more than likely a presidential meeting, and tons of public support and gratitude. There are also the American comic-book superheroes that were created to save the city’s citizens from accidents, crimes, and super-villains. They have super powers above human capacity, wear amazing outfits, and are also praised by the public. So what is the real definition? I believe that a true hero is in the eye of the beholder. To a poor family on the street, the local food shelters could be considered their hero because they provide nourishment and reassurance to the family. For those in third-world countries, missionaries and charities are heroes by bringing food, clothing, and medical supplies to the citizens free of charge. Personally, my parents are my heroes. They are wonderful people who have raised me up with good beliefs, a stable family setting, and they have given me years of experience to use in my own life.

As portrayed in the short story A and P, the cashier Sammy tries to be a hero by quitting his job in response to his boss embarrassing three girls in bikinis. The outcome of the event did not display heroic qualities. Instead, it cost Sammy his job and provided him with nothing, including no girls.

Ch.1 discussion.

Pp.6
1. The personalities between the North Wind and the Sun are opposites. The North Wind, quick and to the point, tries to use brute force by blowing all his wind at the traveler. The Sun is more calm, thinks before it acts. The sun heats up the surroundings forcing the traveler to bear less items therefore dropping the cloak.
2. By blowing wind it makes things colder, as a result the traveler gripped his cloak closer. By holding on tighter, the wind could not blow it away. That is what made the method ineffective.
3. The sun heated up the surroundings, thinking before he acted.
4. The human served as the guinnea pig for the dispute. He was the judge and victim.
5. The moral explains how force cannot always be used to win, sometimes one must slow down and think of other ways to win, in this case persuasion.

Pp. 8
1. The exposition is the first sentence. Chuang Tzu uses two sentences to set up a dramatic situtaion.
2. He changed the subject because he already knew the answer. He does not answer the question imediately cause he wants the officials to understand his answer through the metaphor. Yes, the officials answering helps them to understand Tzu's reasoning.
3. He is calm, satisfied, and does not like to take all the time in the world.

Pp.19-20
1. Cash registers not facing the door. Older individuals carefully watching the registers.
2. He does not fully draw sammy as well as he does the girls. No.
3. Well when the girls first walk in, he starts to daydream over them, so one would start to think the story is going to be about the girls and sammy.
4. The feelings seem to grow, since he waits for them to walk in every day.
